Steam initially presents games in a randomised order while it learns more about the participating titles. From Wednesday at 5 PM, the platform will switch to personalised recommendations to help players find games that match their interests.
Players are also encouraged to interact with developers during the event, as it offers opportunities to learn more about games still in development. This also allows studios to gather player feedback, build an audience and generate interest before release.

Virtual reality players also have options to explore during the October showcase. The event will feature more than 40 PC VR demos, including Payday: Aces High, which offers two playable heists in its demo. Other participating titles include Rustmourne, The Rifted Skies, and Drifters: Blackout Crew.
Whether it be action-packed adventures, multiplayer experiences, strategy games, or virtual reality, Steam Next Fest’s October 2026 edition offers something for almost every type of gamer. Those interested in upcoming PC releases can visit the official event page, try available demos, and keep track of the games they want to play next.
