Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water is coming out this Halloween and it wouldn’t be a Koei-Tecmo without some cute girls in cute costumes. To that point, they are offering a costume based on Ryza from the recent hit RPG Atelier Ryza for the main character Yuri. It will be an early purchase bonus costume for those that get the game on day one.

The digital deluxe edition of the game will also include a costume for Miu Hanasaki based on a character from Fatal Frame 3: The Tormented.

These won’t be the only way costumes in the game, however. The previous unlockables costumes of Fatal Frame 5 that we’re in the original Wii U version will return with the exception of the Nintendo costumes.

There will also be some new costumes that can be unlocked. These include swimsuits, gothic lolita costumes, and even a groom costume for Ren, the one male character in the game.

If you’re going to be taking pictures of ghosts, I suppose you’ve got to look your best, and in an Atelier Ryza costume.

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water was originally released on Nintendo Wii U in 2014. It is now being re-released on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on October 28th.

The producer of the game has said in an interview that he would love to make a sequel and continue the series so consider picking it up if the game sounds interesting to you.

Mt. Hikami was once worshiped as a sacred place where a unique religion was taught. The water on this mountain is believed to house spirits, and there is a teaching from this region that “humans are born from water and return to it at the end of their lives.” As a result, “people looking for death” come to this mountain and experience their last moments while they come in contact with the mountain’s water. They believe this is the proper way to end their lives. Several peculiar rituals and customs still exist on this mountain, and many bizarre and unfortunate occurrences have supposedly taken place here. This story takes place on Mt. Hikami, a mountain believed to be a sacred place, and revolves around Yuri Kozukata, Ren Hojo and Miu Hinasaki who act as the three protagonists whose stories are interwoven in this mysterious and dream-like tale.
