Some details for Iki Island, coming to you in Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut 20 August 2021, have been revealed through the Playstation Blog.

Iki Island is a new story expansion in the Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, where Jin (and players) can explore new locations, meet new characters, tales to complete, and more.

Jin learns of a mysterious Mongol tribe that has gained a foothold on Iki. Led by revered shaman, Ankhsar Khatun – “the Eagle”, to her followers – the danger she presents is unlike any other you have faced. She is a khatun, a shaman, a conqueror of nations, a shepherd of souls, truly one not to be underestimated. Jin must return to Iki Island to face her down, as well as old fears and deeply buried traumas. What dark past of clan Sakai will he be forced to unearth?

The game’s Iki Island is a semi-fictional version, and one that differs much from Tsushima. Wild, lawless, riddled with raiders and criminals, samurai have not been in control for decades. As skilled as he is, Jin will still need to work with, or around, unsavoury characters to reach the Mongols. Should the Eagle garner the support of Iki’s people, Tsushima and the rest of Japan will be in grave danger.

There’ll be plenty of stories, holding much emotional, personal weight to learn as you proceed to pick up techniques for a new foe.
