Capcom has released a new trailer for Mega Man: Dual Override during gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live, confirming Proto Man as a playable character alongside a new Robot Master named Twinkle Girl.

According to Capcom, Mega Man is pushing past his limits and gearing up for a new adventure, this time joined by Proto Man. The two team up to face new threats in the latest entry of the long-running series. With Dr. Light away, robots have gone out of control at a Robot exhibition, leaving Mega Man and Proto Man to step in, stop the chaos, and find out what really caused the incident.

The game introduces Custom Chips, which players can use to freely adjust and improve their abilities. There’s also a new Override system that lets players unleash powerful abilities for a short time. These tools will be needed to get through large stages and take on tough enemies, including the newly shown Robot Master, Twinkle Girl.

With Proto Man now confirmed as a playable character and more details on the game’s new systems coming to light, fans of the series have plenty to look forward to as more information is expected in the future. Mega Man: Dual Override is set to release on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch 2, Switch, and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store in 2027.
