Sony Interactive Entertainment has revealed the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog lineup for January, delivering a strong mix of horror, RPG, simulation, and indie experiences across PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Headlined by Resident Evil Village and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, the month’s additions aim to appeal to both mainstream players and niche genre fans. The full selection becomes available on January 20, while PlayStation Plus Premium members will also receive the classic racer Ridge Racer as part of their tier benefits.

A flagship month for horror and RPG fans

Leading the lineup is Resident Evil Village, available on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The eighth main entry in Capcom’s survival horror series continues the story of Ethan Winters after Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. Set in a mysterious European village filled with grotesque enemies, the game blends action, exploration, and atmospheric storytelling, with the environment itself serving as a key narrative element.

Also available on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 is Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. The game reunites Ichiban Kasuga and Kazuma Kiryu in a sprawling RPG that alternates between Honolulu and Tokyo’s Kamurocho district. Players engage in strategic turn-based combat while enjoying the franchise’s trademark side activities, ranging from goofy minigames to heartfelt character moments.
Exploration, tension, and tactical survival

For players who prefer open-world exploration, Expeditions: A MudRunner Game arrives on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The title emphasizes realistic off-road navigation across deserts, forests, and mountains. Players manage research missions, upgrade vehicles, and coordinate expert teams while tackling hazardous terrain, with both solo and cooperative play supported.

Horror fans receive another option with A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead, which is exclusive to PlayStation 5. Inspired by the film franchise, the game follows an original protagonist navigating a silent, creature-infested world while dealing with family conflict and personal fear. Its focus on stealth and atmosphere differentiates it from more action-heavy horror titles.
Indie standouts across both consoles

January’s lineup also includes Darkest Dungeon II, available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. This brutal roguelike blends psychological mechanics with tactical combat, forcing players to carefully manage their party of flawed heroes as they journey through a decaying world.

The Exit 8 launches on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 as a tense walking simulator set inside a looping underground passageway where careful observation determines survival. Meanwhile, Art of Rally, also available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, offers a stylized top-down racing experience that celebrates the golden era of rally across 91 stages worldwide.

For a more relaxed experience, A Little to the Left comes to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 as a cozy puzzle game about organizing household objects. A mischievous cat constantly disrupts the tidy gameplay, adding playful chaos to what is otherwise a calming experience.
Premium classic returns

PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers gain access to Ridge Racer, playable on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The classic arcade racer returns with modern enhancements such as upscaling, rewind, quick save, and custom video filters. Players can race in Battle Mode or Time Trial Mode while enjoying selectable in-game music tracks.
What this lineup means for subscribers
With a mix of blockbuster franchises, indie darlings, and nostalgic classics, January’s PlayStation Plus Game Catalog reinforces Sony’s strategy of delivering broad value across both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. By ensuring most titles are available on both consoles, Sony continues to support its dual-generation ecosystem while offering compelling reasons for players to remain subscribed as the year begins.
