The Saga of Tanya the Evil Season 2 Set to Air in 2026

Fans of The Saga of Tanya the Evil can look forward to Tanya Degurechaff’s return in 2026. The second season of the anime has officially been announced, and the studio released a teaser trailer and visual. Additionally, Aoi Yuki will reprise her role as Tanya, bringing the calculating soldier back to life in the Empire’s war-torn skies.

Returning Staff and Production Team

Takayuki Yamamoto will direct Season 2, following his work on Negative Positive Angler and co-directing key episodes of Season 1. Furthermore, character designer Yuji Hosogoe and series composer Kenta Ihara are returning, which ensures continuity in style and music.

Story Background and Previous Adaptations

The Saga of Tanya the Evil (Yōjo Senki) originates from Carlo Zen’s light novel series, illustrated by Shinobu Shinotsuki. The story follows a salaryman reincarnated as Tanya, who rises as a fearsome soldier.

Previously, the series aired in 2017, followed by a 2019 movie. In addition, Tanya and other characters appeared in the crossover spinoff Isekai Quartet. The light novel series began in 2016 and had 14 volumes as of September 2023. According to Yen Press, Tanya uses bullets, spells, and strategy to survive as the ruthless “Devil of the Rhine.”
