Saroasis Studios has officially announced the Closed Beta for Fate Trigger, its highly anticipated free-to-play anime-style hero shooter, launching July 24, 2025, at 7 PM PST via Steam. Players eager to jump into the action can request access to the playtest now on the game’s Steam page. Alongside the announcement, a new gameplay trailer has been released, offering a first look at the latest content arriving in the beta.
What’s New in the Fate Trigger Closed Beta
Developed using Unreal Engine 5, the beta will introduce three new playable heroes, expanding the roster to ten characters. The highlight is Bloodprowler Ryoin, a wolf animoid who can transform into a werewolf mid-match, greatly enhancing his speed and agility. Ryoin will be joined by Crystalscar Cynric and Lootracer Mindy, with more details about their abilities expected soon.
In addition to new characters, players can experience brand-new game modes, including:

- 8v8 Team Deathmatch
- Alongside the returning Battle Royale mode
The beta also features five new weapons and two new vehicles. Players can now drive an armored SUV built for heavy combat or speed across the battlefield on a stealthy motorcycle, adding to existing traversal tools like hovercars, gliders, and teleportation portals.
Strategic, Hero-Based Gameplay with Anime Flair
Every hero in Fate Trigger comes with unique ultimate abilities designed to promote strategic teamplay. Players can deploy team-wide cloaking, build defensive structures, or unleash powerful area-of-effect abilities, pushing the genre beyond twitch-based gameplay and into tactical coordination.
Combat takes place across floating islands, offering dynamic terrain and verticality. Players can enhance their squads with gear upgrades and purchasable buffs, further enriching the game’s strategic depth.
Visually, the game leverages a proprietary neural-network animation system that transforms 2D anime-style characters into 3D models, complete with realistic motion for hair, clothing, and accessories. This system ensures a fluid, anime-inspired aesthetic without compromising performance, even in 100-player PvP environments.
While the current Closed Beta is exclusive to PC via Steam, Saroasis Studios has confirmed plans to release Fate Trigger on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and mobile platforms. The developer also teased esports ambitions, suggesting tournament play and competitive leagues are already in the works.
