[UPDATE 25th July 2025] VShojo has officially announced its shutdown following a wave of controversy and mass departures from its talent roster. In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), CEO Justin “Gunrun” Ignacio admitted to mismanaging the company.
VShojo has failed, and I’ve mismanaged the company into the situation you’re all witnessing.
So today I am sharing the difficult news that VShojo is shutting down, and I take full responsibility for the decisions that led us to this point.

Popular virtual tuber (VTuber) agency VShojo is in crisis after most of its Vtubers quit within days of streamer Ironmouse’s shocking departure. The mass exodus began after Ironmouse accused the company of withholding over $500,000 she raised for the Immune Deficiency Foundation during her record-breaking subathon.
In a YouTube video, Ironmouse claimed VShojo owed her money and failed to pay the charity funds she had raised. Her allegations quickly sparked a domino effect, with six more creators officially leaving the agency and releasing their own statements about unpaid funds.
Kson, one of VShojo’s biggest names, made headlines by confronting the company’s Japanese CEO live on stream before announcing her departure. She revealed that VShojo hadn’t paid her since September 2024, potentially dating back to around the same time as Ironmouse’s subathon. “The reason why I waited so long was that if I reveal this information and say I’m going to quit, I thought they were not going to pay me the amount they owe, and that was scary for me,” Kson explained during her stream.
During the tense conversation with CEO Makino, disturbing details emerged about the missing charity funds. The Japanese CEO suggested the $500,000 raised for the Immune Deficiency Foundation might have been used for “operational costs” and admitted that unless the English side of the company recovers, owed payments to talent may never materialize.
I waited to make a statement, cuz I’m always anxious & struggle to find my words.
But, yes, i’m leaving vshojo.
I was an OG talent, put my everything into this comp. But I’m beyond devastated at what happened. & I never in a million years thought I’d be saying these words. 💔

Other departing creators include original VShojo member Projekt Melody, who expressed devastation over the situation, saying she “put everything into this company.” Voice actor and VTuber AmaLee, who had only joined the agency in January, terminated her contract to return to independent streaming. Hime Hajime and Michi Mochievee also announced their departures, with Michi confirming VShojo owes her “a good amount” of unpaid funds.
As the scandal continues to unfold, VShojo has removed all talent from its affiliated accounts and closed its official merchandise store. The agency now appears to have lost nearly all of its English-speaking talent, with only a few members remaining, primarily from the VShojo NOVA group.
