FromSoftware, the acclaimed developer behind Elden Ring and Armored Core VI, may have another major project in the works, one that could arrive as early as next year.
A Surprise Title in the Works?

According to a report by MP1st, the studio behind Elden Ring, Dark Souls, and Armored Core is currently developing a new, unannounced multiplatform title. Codenamed “FMC”, the project is reportedly in “advanced stages of production” and could see release by 2026 at the latest.
While the exact nature of FMC remains unknown, fans and industry watchers are already speculating on its origins. Historically, FromSoftware’s internal codenames beginning with “F” have been associated with either Dark Souls or Armored Core titles—sparking theories that FMC could be a Dark Souls III Remaster or even a Fires of Rubicon expansion for Armored Core VI.
Not Replacing Single-Player Games
The developer has been quite busy, with multiple projects on its plate. This includes post-launch support for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, the recently announced Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods, and now this mysterious FMC title.
In a statement during The Duskbloods reveal, FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki emphasized that the studio has no intention of abandoning single-player-focused games, even while exploring new multiplayer experiences.
“This doesn’t mean that we as a company have decided to shift to a more multiplayer-focused direction,” Miyazaki clarified. “We still intend to actively develop single-player-focused games that embrace our traditional style.”
What Could FMC Be?

With speculation pointing to either a Dark Souls remaster or additional Armored Core content, the true identity of FMC remains a mystery. However, one thing is clear—FromSoftware is keeping its momentum strong following the success of Elden Ring and continues to experiment with both classic and new formats.
If the rumors hold, FMC could be officially unveiled in the coming months, with a potential launch window sometime in 2026.
