The nominees for the gamescom award 2026 have been announced, with an international jury of games journalists and content creators picking out the standout titles from a large pool of submissions. The winners will be playable in the entertainment area at gamescom 2026.

METRO: 2039 from 4A Games and Deep Silver leads the pack with five nominations, the most of any game this year. It picked up nods in the Best Visuals and Most Epic categories, and it’s also nominated across every platform it’s releasing on.

Right behind it is Denshattack! by Undercoders and Fireshine Games, the indie title that was first announced during last year’s gamescom Opening Night Live. It picked up four nominations, matching Alien: Isolation 2 from Creative Assembly and SEGA, which also has four. SEGA had a strong showing overall, with Total War: WARHAMMER 40,000 (also Creative Assembly) and STRANGER THAN HEAVEN from RGG Studio adding two nominations each, bringing the publisher’s total to eight nominations.
