Akatsuki Games has officially announced that Kaiju No. 8 the Game will launch on August 31, 2025. To commemorate Kaiju No. 8 Day on August 5—also Kafka Hibino’s birthday—a brand-new trailer and visual dropped. This announcement confirmed the game’s release date and thrilled fans around the world.

The game will feature an original storyline that expands the universe with new characters and Kaiju. Akatsuki Games is developing it in collaboration with Toho Animation and Production I.G.

Meet CLOZER: A Military Unit Exclusive to the Game

Unlike the manga and anime series, the game introduces CLOZER (Closing Order with Zero Restrictions), a special unit created solely for Kaiju No. 8 the Game. This elite team includes Sagan Shinomiya, the non-blood-related older sister of Kikoru Shinomiya. Akari Kitō, widely known for her roles in Demon Slayer and Love Live!, voices her.

CLOZER also features Chester Lochburn, a former UK defense force captain who now serves as the team’s tactical advisor. Another member, Suited, is a scientist developing weapons based on Kaiju biology. These original characters drive a new narrative that injects intensity into the Kaiju universe. 1M Pre-Registration Rewards Revealed

Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME, the upcoming mobile and PC adaptation of Naoya Matsumoto’s hit manga and anime, has surpassed 850,000 pre-registrations. As a result, players will receive both 4 star [Aiming for Greater Heights] Mina Ashiro and 4 star [Blade Specialist] Soshiro Hoshina as launch rewards.
