Two voice actors from the beloved RPG Persona 4 have seemingly confirmed that a remake is in the works, though they won’t be returning to voice their characters.
Yuri Lowenthal, who played Yosuke Hanamura in the 2008 PlayStation 2 game, broke the news on social media platform Bluesky. “And for those who keep asking, no, I will not be returning as Yosuke for the Persona 4 remake,” he wrote. “I asked. Maybe I even begged, but they don’t want me to come back.” His comments suggest that Atlus is recasting the voice roles for the rumored remake, similar to how some characters were recast in Persona 3 Reload.
Shortly after, Erin Fitzgerald, the voice of Chie Satonaka, also confirmed on Bluesky that she hadn’t been asked to return for the remake. She expressed gratitude for having voiced the character across multiple games in the series.
Neither Sega nor Atlus have officially announced a Persona 4 remake, but rumors have circulated for months. The speculation gained more weight following the success of Persona 3 Reload in 2024, which received praise from both critics and fans.
The original Persona 4 was one of the final major releases for PlayStation 2 in 2008. The game later received an enhanced version called Persona 4 Golden for PlayStation Vita in 2012, which added new content and story elements. Golden eventually made its way to PC in 2020 and other modern consoles in 2023.

While fans have expressed mixed feelings about the original voice cast not returning, many see these confirmations as strong evidence that the long-rumored remake is real, even without official word from Atlus.
