Pokemon Go Ghost Type Event on 25 October

Niantic’s hit mobile game Pokemon Go had announced some new details regarding their upcoming Ghost Type event which will be taking place on 25 October to celebrate this year’s Halloween from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm based on local time.

Ghost Type Event Overview

While despite being a Ghost Type themed event, only one of the Ghost Type pokemon will be more commonly appearing in the wild during the catch event. This will be Drifloon and there will also be a chance of encountering a Shiny version of the Balloon Pokemon, so to be sure to keep an eye out for a yellow variant floating around.

Additionally, there will also be exclusive Timed Research to complete that will only be available during the Event hours. Similarly, there will also be event-exclusive Field Research tasks to complete that will reward players with various Ghost Type encounters and Mega Gengar Energy so make sure you take advantage of this event period to score yourselves a Mega Gengar if you don’t have one previously.

And with this new event comes a new update to Mega evolution Pokemon. The duration that Pokemon will stay in their Mega-Evolved form has now been increased from four hours to eight. Additionally, the cap for Mega Energy has been raised from 999 to 2000.
