Nintendo has released a new system update for the Nintendo Switch 2, resolving backwards compatibility issues affecting more than 20 games originally launched on the first-generation Switch. This comes as part of Nintendo’s continued effort to ensure a smooth transition for players moving to the next-gen console.

Major Titles Now Running Smoothly on Switch 2

Players can now enjoy previously problematic titles like Crypt of the NecroDancer, Harvestella, Portal 2, and Endless Ocean Luminous without technical hiccups. These games had compatibility issues on Switch 2 but should now work properly following the July 2025 system update.
