Codename Sun is said to be an open-world action RPG that shifts the focus from PvE storytelling, as seen in Wuthering Waves, to PvP and competitive gameplay. Early descriptions hint at fast-paced combat systems, real-time battles, and a gameplay ecosystem built around ranked matches, skill-based progression, and possibly large-scale online events.

While the game is still in early development, keywords from official job listings include “ARPG,” “heroes,” “PvP,” and “competitive,” reinforcing the idea that multiplayer battles and competitive systems will be at the heart of Codename Sun’s core loop.
The game is expected to support cross-platform play, though it’s unclear whether platforms will share the same matchmaking pool or be separated based on input type. Still, Codename Sun aims to offer high visual fidelity, dynamic environments, and smooth animations across all platforms—thanks to its Unreal Engine foundation.

As with Project Nami, this new game seems to be another large-scale effort from Kuro Games to push their technical and gameplay boundaries. However, unlike Nami, which leaned toward a story-driven and cooperative experience, Codename Sun appears to embrace a more competitive edge, making it potentially Kuro’s boldest project to date.
No official announcement or trailer has been released, and much of what we know comes from speculative sources like job boards and trusted community figures. Still, interest is rising quickly, especially with Kuro’s track record of ambitious and visually stunning games.
