A new action game based on the popular Korean webtoonhe Player Who Can’t Level Up is heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC via Steam next year. Developer Tripearl Games announced that the game will launch in 2026, bringing the hit web series to gaming platforms.
The game puts players in the shoes of Kim Kigyu, a fighter who faces the world’s most dangerous enemies but has one major problem – he can’t gain experience levels like other players. This unique twist means players must rely on skill and smart thinking instead of just grinding for higher stats.
“We wanted to challenge how players think about progression,” explained Tripearl Games CEO Manson Jeong. “In The Player Who Can’t Level Up, improvement comes from strategy, not stats—from learning and adapting, not grinding.”
The original webtoon has been hugely successful, racking up over 210 million views and topping the charts on reading platforms like Kakao Page, Piccoma, and Tapas. The game will tell a new side story that lets fans explore parts of the world they haven’t seen before, while fighting alongside familiar characters Lu and El.

Instead of traditional leveling up, the game uses a system called Ego Shards – special abilities that work like perks – and Blessings, which are random power-ups that players can combine in different ways. This roguelite approach means each playthrough offers new combinations and strategies to try.
The game runs on Unreal Engine 5, promising smooth 3D graphics with full camera control and no loading screens between areas. Combat focuses on fast sword fighting with different attack types including regular strikes, berserk mode, and powerful awakening attacks.
