Destiny Code, a new card-based RPG developed by Project L.A. and published by aNCHOR, has officially been announced for PC, launching in Early Access sometime in 2025. The game will be available via Steam and the Epic Games Store, with support for English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
Where Cards, Combat, and Choices Collide
Destiny Code blends anime-style storytelling with turn-based card combat, introducing a bishojo-infused RPG where every choice shapes the world. Set within the ruins of a forgotten civilization, the game places you in the role of Hart Grancer, a former boy mercenary now working as an undercover instructor at the “Academy.”
Throughout the game, players will explore dangerous missions, build relationships, and uncover secrets involving a mysterious object known as the Grimforge. The Early Access version will feature up to Chapter 2 of the main story, including seven playable girls, individual character episodes, and multiple side events.
A Cast of Battle-Ready Heroines
From proud nobles to shy bookworms, Destiny Code’s cast brings personality and power to each encounter. Among the lineup are:
- Akina Akitsuki, a cheerful yet insecure girl with a knack for pretty things.
- Elise von Richthofen, a flashy former noble with a loud motto and a hidden soft side.
- Linghua Lang, a small but fierce fighter from the 212th precinct.
- Alesha Hammond, a quiet and introverted girl who hides herself under layers of clothes.
- Selene Grancer, a stoic yet sweet girl with a love for animals and a powerful railgun blade.
- Saki Aihara, a dependable committee-type with a hidden love for writing romantic fiction.
Each girl uses unique weapons and abilities in battle, with visuals and animations highlighting their personalities. Whether it’s Elise’s flashy gunplay or Saki’s stun rods, every battle plays out like a strategic puzzle of timing, synergy, and deck building.
Strategy-Fueled Card Battles and Deck Development
Combat in Destiny Code is turn-based and card-driven, where cards reflect your allies’ personalities and combat styles. During battles, players must carefully decide whether to act now or build toward stronger plays later. Actions can add new cards to your hand mid-fight, offering strategic depth and requiring foresight.
To further deepen customization, Destiny Code allows the use of Artifacts. These items not only enhance characters but also compensate for weaknesses. Players can synthesize new Artifacts with inherited traits, letting them shape each girl’s role to suit their strategy.
More Than Battles: Premium Events and Emotional Bonds

aNCHOR
Outside of combat, the game emphasizes emotional storytelling and bonding events. Known as “Premium Events,” these short yet impactful scenes reveal new layers of each girl’s character. A passing glance, an honest smile, or a small gesture can create a touching moment that builds immersion and connection.
As players progress, their decisions affect both the narrative and their relationships. The deeper the bond, the more powerful and personalized the team becomes. The game aims to balance school life, world exploration, and mission-based storytelling in one emotionally rich package.
Developer’s Passion Brought to Life
According to the development team, Destiny Code was born from a desire to combine classic RPG storytelling with card game mechanics and a heartfelt emotional arc. In their words, “We packed it all into this work—battles, drama, friendship, and a little bit of crying.” Destiny Code seeks to be more than just a game—it wants to leave an impact through both gameplay and story.
Destiny Code will enter Early Access for PC in 2025, with an expected duration of about one year before the full release. The developers plan to release new content periodically, expanding the story, characters, and world over time.
