Code Geass Genesic Re;Code announced for 2021

One of the newly announced Code Geass projects announced this past weekend is a mobile game, named Code Geass Genesic Re;Code. This title comes with the usual works of featuring a new original story with new characters, but will see the return of the cast from the anime as well as the movies. We should expect it to be a gacha title as usual, looking to be a turn based RPG of sorts. From the trailer, there looks to be both battles on a 2D plane as well as on the overworld. There’s no gameplay preview on the official website, so we’d have to stay tuned for that. Pre-registrations for the game are already open, though no milestone rewards were revealed. Code Geass: Genesic Re;Code is expected to launch in Spring 2021.

Alongside the reveal of the new mobile game, a new anime series was also revealed, titled Code Geass: Zet of the Recapture, also expected to air in 2021. You can watch the trailer for the anime below:

The anime project might have some ties with the game, perhaps to flesh out the characters even more. In any case, the resurrection of older properties, be it anime or games, doesn’t look like it’s stopping, so keep an eye out.
