Gearbox Software has confirmed that Borderlands 4 will arrive on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 on October 3, 2025, just three weeks after its release on other platformsOriginally slated for a broader “before the end of the year” launch window, the Switch 2 version is now set to follow closely behind the September 12 release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The news was shared by Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford in a video announcement on social media, where he emphasized the earlier-than-expected launch.
“It’s not next year, it’s not even the Holiday,” said Pitchford. “It’s so much before Christmas, it’s so much before Thanksgiving.”.
Launch Plans and Editions
With the updated release schedule, players on Switch 2 won’t have to wait long to join the latest chapter in the loot-filled, chaotic Borderlands universe.
The game will be available at $70/RM 329 for the standard edition, alongside a $130/RM 611 Super Deluxe Edition, which includes bonus DLC and in-game items. A $150/RM 705 Collector’s Edition will also be released, although it does not include a copy of the game.
