Two months after its release, Beast of Reincarnation is set to have its post-launch updates cut, according to Game Freak. The Pokémon developer announced on October 16 that the game’s next patch on October 19 would mark the end of its current phase of major updates.

Game Freak, best known for the Pokémon games, shared the announcement on social media, thanking players for their continued support and feedback on the RPG. Although the date of the next patch was confirmed, what it entails wasn’t revealed. The announcement also clarified that while frequent updates would end, players could still submit feedback and report issues through the game’s support website.

The decision comes after several updates aimed at improving the experience following the game’s launch. The previous update, version 1.1.01, was released on October 9 and introduced a story progression option that allows players to bypass three areas and reach the Capital sooner. It also added a field-of-view setting on PC, improved cutscene pacing, and addressed various technical issues.

Despite these efforts, Beast of Reincarnation received a mixed reception from players, with criticism directed at aspects of its combat and storytelling. However, Game Freak has not provided a specific reason for ending its frequent update cycle.

The studio has also not ruled out further updates altogether. According to the developers’ announcement, remaining major concerns could still be addressed in the upcoming patch or a later update. Beast of Reincarnation is available to play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
