SHIFT UP’s upcoming PC release of Stellar Blade is getting attention for an unexpected reason – the developers are openly celebrating a fan-made VR mod on their official social media channels. The action-adventure game, launching on PC on June 12 already has modders working with its recently released demo.
A modder known as Praydog created a VR modification using the UEVR project, which lets players experience the Stellar Blade demo in virtual reality from a first-person view. What makes this story interesting is how the game’s official team responded to the mod.

Instead of staying quiet or discouraging modifications, SHIFT UP’s official X account shared video clips of the VR mod in action, praising it as looking “incredible.” The developers even posted close-up shots of the main character Eve’s model running in VR, showing they’re not shy about highlighting what the mod can do.
The Stellar Blade demo launched on Steam recently and has been doing well, with a positive rating from players. The demo offers about an hour of gameplay and includes a boss battle to show off the combat system. Save progress can be transferred to the full game when it releases.
Stellar Blade first came out as a PlayStation 5 exclusive in April 2024 and became a breakout success for developer SHIFT UP. The game topped pre-order charts in over 60 countries and drew strong player engagement. The PC version will be available in both Standard and Complete editions. The Complete Edition includes bonus content and costume codes connected to the developer’s mobile game Goddess of Victory: Nikke.
