Sharkmob has announced an exciting playtest for Exoborne, an open-world tactical extraction shooter, set to take place from February 12-17, 2025 on Steam. This playtest marks a major milestone for the game as it enters its first large-scale test with community involvement.
Set in the devastated land of Colton County, Exoborne combines PvPvE combat and survival mechanics, where players are equipped with customizable exo-rigs to survive extreme weather and hostile factions. These exo-rigs enhance players’ abilities, making them adaptable to unpredictable storms, tornadoes, and floods, and essential for navigating the dangerous world of Exoborne.

During the playtest, players will explore Colton County’s vast open world, scavenging for resources, crafting gear, and battling rival factions. The game’s dynamic weather system ensures that no two playthroughs will be the same, adding layers of strategy and risk to every mission. Public events and missions will also offer unique challenges and rewards, pushing players to strategize their every move.
Sharkmob is eager for player feedback to help refine the game’s mechanics. As Executive Producer Brynley Gibson states, “This is our first large-scale test, and we’re excited to collaborate with the community to elevate Exoborne to new heights.”

The playtest will run from February 12 at 5:00 a.m. PST / 8:00 a.m. EST to February 17, 2025, and players can sign up now via Steam. Don’t miss your chance to experience Exoborne’s evolving world and high-stakes survival gameplay. For more information on everything Exoborne, be sure to check out the game’s official website.
