Bushiroad Games has announced Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact, a new 2D fighting game scheduled to release in summer 2025. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
The title marks the first fighting game adaptation of the popular anime series Hunter x Hunter. It features a three-versus-three battle system where players must strategically compose their teams, considering character compatibility and team structure to achieve victory.

The game implements an accessible combo system through its “Rush Combo” feature, allowing players to execute powerful combinations by holding a dedicated rush button while repeatedly pressing attack buttons. For competitive players, an online battle mode will be available with a ranking system where participants can climb the leaderboard to achieve the prestigious “three-star hunter” status. Players can also compete for collectible “G.I. Cards” in online matches.

Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact includes a story mode that lets players experience memorable moments from the original anime series while serving as a tutorial for newcomers to learn the game’s fundamental mechanics. The game was previously announced to be delayed due to the implementation of rollback netcode, a system designed to reduce connection lag in online matches.
In their statement, the production team expressed their apologies for any inconvenience caused by the delay. They emphasized that they made this decision to ensure players can fully enjoy the game without encountering issues during online play.
Fans attending Jump Festa 2025 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, from December 21 to 22, will have the opportunity to try Nen Impact firsthand before its release.
