Team Cherry has offered an encouraging update on the much-anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong, reassuring fans that the game is still progressing and will ultimately release. Matthew ‘Leth’ Griffin, Team Cherry’s head of PR and marketing, shared the news in response to a fan’s inquiry, stating that Silksong is “real, progressing and will release.” While the announcement doesn’t reveal any further specifics about the game’s timeline, it provides fans with much-needed reassurance after a long wait.

Originally announced in 2019, Silksong started as an expansion for the acclaimed Hollow Knight, but over time, it evolved into a full-fledged sequel. The game follows Hornet, the princess-protector of Hallownest, as she embarks on a dangerous journey in an entirely new kingdom. This new world will introduce players to more than 150 new enemies, including a range of menacing bosses and unique creatures. Silksong will also feature a host of new mechanics and gameplay features, including fresh movement abilities, weapons, and tools to enhance the combat experience.
Fans can also look forward to a stunning new original soundtrack by Christopher Larkin, returning to score Silksong with the same emotional and symphonic melodies that made the first game’s music so beloved. The game will also feature a challenge mode for players seeking a greater test of their skills after completing the main adventure.
While Silksong was initially slated for a 2023 release, development delays have pushed the release window further back, with no concrete launch date announced yet. However, when it does arrive, Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

With this recent update, Silksong fans can rest assured that the sequel is still in the works and on its way, though the wait continues.
