Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes Drops a New Trailer at Gamescom

Bandai Namco and Supermassive Games have released a new trailer for The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes during Gamescom 2021.

The game takes place in the shadow of the Zagros mountains a US military unit comes under fire from Iraqi forces. The resulting firefight causes an earth tremor where both sides fall into the ruins of a buried Sumerian temple. With all communication severed, our protagonists are trapped and must find a way to escape – unaware that something ancient and evil has awakened in the shadows and is hungry for blood.

In this underworld, the game asks you to think about who the real enemy is. The monsters hiding in the shadows or the other people trapped with you? Will, you set aside your rivalries to face a common enemy? Of course, these decisions will affect who will live or die by the game’s conclusion.

There is apparently a hidden message in the trailer that will lead to a special website filled with the lore and secrets behind House of Ashes. We haven’t found it but maybe you can.

The Dark Pictures Anthology is a series of stand-alone, branching cinematic horror games, designed to present a new terrifying experience on a regular basis. Each game is unconnected and will feature a brand-new story, setting, and a new cast of characters. Here’s our review of the previous game, Little Hope.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes will release on 22 October 2021 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC and is available for pre-order now.
