World of Demons Is An ARPG For Mobile With Okami Artstyle!

Just recently, DeNA had announced an RPG for the mobile with Spike Chunsoft called Seikimatsu Days: Our Era’s End. Now DeNA is at it again this time with Platinum Games to announce World of Demons, a samurai action RPG game that will be released for both iOS and Android this coming Summer in Japan (between June to September).

The game is a action RPG where players will control a Samurai to fight against Oni (demons) in medieval Japan. The Onis have taken over the human world which consists of even the Yokais (Japanese folklore monsters), corrupted and attacking humans. As the Samurai living the way of the sword, dares to stand against these fearsome Oni to save humanity.

Below are the characters that will appear in the game:

After the Oni killed his parents, Onimaru was kidnapped and raised by Oni from a young age to do their bidding. Now an adult, he has vowed to enact revenge on the Oni for what they have done by cleansing the human world of their plague…

A shrine-maiden dedicated to protecting her family’s ancestral shrine, Sayo has left her shrine behind to search for the Oni who kidnapped her mother. After a chance meeting with Onimaru, she decides that following him on his journey is her best chance to find clues to her mother’s whereabouts.

Ibaraki Doji

Shuten Doji’s lover and most trusted lieutenant. Her face is obscured by a mask, hinting at a dark past. What, if any, connections does she have to the Samurai that are assembled against the Oni?

Kuma Doji

One of the Seven Demonlords. Despises humanity and yokai alike, seeing them as inferior to the Oni race. Revering strength above all else, he may change his mind about an opponent after crossing swords in combat. A calculating creature with no moral compass to speak of.

Other Features

Dramatic Samurai Action

As an ARPG, the game allows you to control your character and perform sword slashes, dodges, parries and even finishing moves. There are even Yokai Minions where you can summon to aid you in battle with elemental buffs, attack spells and other supportive skills.

Innovative Gameplay Modes

There are also numerous game modes where you can play like the Skirmish story mode, PvP with your strongest Yokai Minion against other players in the Yokai Showdown, or bring along your Samurai friends to challenge against Oni bosses in the cooperative Samurai Stronghold mode.

Diverse Upgrades and Customization

To make your Samurai stronger, you can upgrade and customize your weapons. The upgrades can increase, attack, additional sword skills and other character-specific special moves and evasion. Some of the weapon upgrades will require players to use them in battle to gain experience from battles. As for the Yokai Minions that you can bring along, you can obtain, train and boost their core stats to make the stronger and gain unique powers dependent to the Yokai.

Looking at the screenshots, you might already see the resemblance in the artstyle of a game called Okami. The Japanese brush-stroke artstyle fits with the medieval era of Japan which you can even see it on their official site! The game is almost ready for release and right now pre-registrations are already launched on their official site.
