Tactics Ogre Reborn Has A Balancing Bug, Original Game Director Comments On The Issue

Update – 17/03/23: Square Enix has now released a new update for Tactics Ogre Reborn that fixes the Dark Knight weapons bug.

Tactics Ogre Reborn has launched its new 1.05 Patch including a number of bug and text fixes to ensure that the game runs smoother. The new patch however also included a minor new bug that affects a certain group of weapons in the game.

The update launched on the 7th of March 2023. Here are the full patch notes for the 1.05 version of Tactics Ogre Reborn:

• Stability improvement during long play sessions.
• Bug fix to address game freezes when repeatedly using the Chariot Tarot.
• Added support for systems with multiple display adapters.
• Corrected description text for New Xenobia.
• Fixed several text issues in the English, French, and Simplified Chinese translations.
• Various minor bug fixes and general stability improvements.

A day later however, Yasumi Matsuno, the director of the original Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together which Tactics Ogre Reborn is a remake of says that he might have noticed an announced bug in the game involving the weapons dropped by the Dark Knights being “weakened”.

According to Matsuno, who did not work on the Tactics Ogre Reborn iteration of the game, the title Executive Producer Yoshinori Kitase has acknowledged the bug, and the team will begin working on another patch that will be released at some point in the future.

“When we contacted Mr. Kitase (executive producer) about the weakening of the Dark Knight drops items, he said it was an unexpected data bug. In order to restore it to its original state, he said he will send out another patch to fix it at a later date. This is not an official statement, but I’ll tweet it”.

Square Enix themselves have acknowledged that a bug has emerged with the recent patch on the Tactics Ogre Reborn official Twitter account and says that it will be fixed shortly.
