Capcom announced during its June Spotlight event that Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess will receive a special anniversary update in July, adding a nostalgic twist to the game’s soundtrack. The free update introduces the “Mazo Talisman: Yashichi Waves,” a new item players can equip to transform certain music tracks into 8-bit versions. This retro-styled addition serves as Capcom’s way of thanking fans for their support during the game’s first year.
The timing coincides with Kunitsu-Gami’s one-year anniversary celebration. The game has been praised for its unique blend of strategic action and elegant swordplay mechanics.
Players can currently enjoy the game’s “Otherworldly Venture” content, which is available as free extra content across all platforms. This mode challenges players to survive endless waves of enemies called Seethe in a mysterious realm, featuring random upgrades and score-based gameplay on changing battlefields.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess recently expanded to Nintendo Switch 2, bringing new features like mouse controls and multiple play modes for TV, tabletop, and handheld gaming. The game remains available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC through Steam and Microsoft Store. The July anniversary update will be free for all players when it launches next month.
