[ Guide ] Genshin Impact: Collection of Dragons and Snakes World Quest

With Enkanomiya open in Genshin Impact, that means new chests, goodies and quests, one of them being the Collection of Dragons and Snakes. Remember to be in Evernight as the Shades will only appear then.

STARTING THE QUEST

Find Ema in the Narrows, where you first met Enjou. You’ll be tasked to find five books.

HYDROLOGICAL STUDIES IN BYAKUYAKOKU

On your way, you can chat up Akashi who will talk about unagi and target practice. You need to hit the dome that appears to get a Precious Chest and the achievement, Step Right Up!

Make your way to this corner of the Evernight Temple.

1. Change to Whitenight. Pick up the nearby Key Sigil too!
2. Hit this once.
3. Hit this once.

Swap to Evernight with the mechanism. Have a Hydro character activate the Hydro Pillars to open the space in the middle. You’ll find a Luxurious Chest and a “Date’s Medal of Recognition”. Date’s spirit will be there to talk to, where you’ll need to find the next medal. It’ll be marked on the map, if you didn’t already come across it. Remember to open the gate nearby too with the wall lever.

The next puzzle is at the Serpent’s Heart. You need to make the walls symmetrical during Evernight.

1. Use E to turn to Whitenight.
2. Use Lever B once.
3. Hit C twice.
4. Use Lever B once.
5. Use Lever A on the front pillar once.
6. Hit D twice.
7. Use Lever A once.
8. Hit C once.
9. Use E to turn to Evernight.

You can log out and back in to reset the puzzle, but you can keep fiddling it until it looks like this:

Open the Luxurious Chest to get the other medal and return to Date. Descend the stairs next to him to pick up the book, and a key sigil.

THE SERPENT AND DRAKES OF TOKOYOKOKU

The easiest book to obtain by far. Just head to Yae Publishing House at Inazuma City to buy it. If you’ve already bought the book before starting the quest, it may bug out which is up to the devs to fix.

BEFORE THE SUN & MOON

Find these spirits hanging out by dropping off the southern most waypoint of Dainichi Mikoshi. You need to find Antei to get the book. The spirits will point you to the island south of the Serpent’s Heart.

Obtain the Ruin Machine Core and activate the Ruin Guard. When it gets up, the book will be the shiny object under where it used to sit. Speak to Antei again.

BATHYSMAL VISHAP EXPERIMENTAL RECORDS

Find this orb on the northern island north of Dainichi Mikoshi. Let it take you to the next spirit for the Tricolor File quest.

In the room ahead, there’ll be Cyro, Electro, and Hydro Pillars to activate. Each will release one Bathysmal Vishap of the corresponding pillar element. You should be able to find the Tricolor File in the Cyro room, with mora boxes and a sigil to grab in the other two.

IN THE LIGHT, BENEATH THE SHADOW

South of the middle waypoint of Dainichi Mikoshi, find this destructible wall, with convenient explosive barrels. The Ruin Guard will turn active, as well.

There’ll be two triangular mechanisms; one for Evernight, and one for Whitenight. Hit them once each.

Claim the chest inside, and might as well light the torches while you’re at it.

You need it to be Evernight to get the next hint. There’ll be one outside. Go back into the room where you can activate the symbols. Take note of the order.

Go back to the Serpent’s Heart area at the top left where you got a fragment before, and touch the barriers in the correct sequence to claim the book.

COMPLETING COLLECTION OF DRAGONS AND SNAKES

Return to Ema will all five books. Go through the picture frame for the “If Tokoyo Ookami Knew of This…” achievement. There’ll be a Seelie on the lower floor, and a key sigil on the upper floor. You can also grab all the books on the shelf to add to your Archive permanently.

With that, that’s the Collection of Dragons and Snakes Genshin Impact World Quest complete.
