Upin & Ipin Universe revealed more of its gameplay during the Southeast Asian Games Showcase at Summer Game Fest 2025. The game, based on the popular Malaysian animated series, showed off new footage of its open-world village adventure.
The latest showcase gave players a better look at Kampung Durian Runtuh, the colorful village where the game takes place. This open-world setting captures the feel of traditional Southeast Asian kampung life, complete with busy markets, peaceful rice fields, and evening scenes with fireflies. The footage also highlighted several mini-games and activities that mix fun with Malaysian culture.
Players got to see cooking sessions with family members Opah and Kak Ros, chasing after Rembo, fishing activities. and more. The showcase also featured gasing duels – a traditional Malaysian game where players compete with spinning tops to knock each other’s tops out of a circle or make them stop spinning.
Beyond the mini-games, Upin & Ipin Universe offers a deeper cultural experience. Players will help their community, discover local legends, and learn about Malaysian traditions while playing. The game includes detailed farming where players plant and harvest crops, a complete fishing system with different bait and fish types, and rhythm-based cooking mini-games.

Upin & Ipin Universe will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. The game is listed as “coming soon” with no exact release date announced yet. The showcase at Summer Game Fest 2025 gave fans their most detailed look yet at how the beloved animated characters’ world will translate into an interactive gaming experience.
