[TGA 2024] Tekken 8 Welcomes Final Fantasy XVI’s Clive Rosfield to the Roster

During The Game Awards 2024, Bandai Namco shocked fans by unveiling Clive Rosfield, the protagonist of Final Fantasy XVI, as the final DLC character for Tekken 8 Season 1. Set to join the roster alongside other iconic fighters like Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima, Clive will be available for Season Pass holders starting December 16, 2024, with a full release on December 20, 2024.

The trailer showcased Clive in a dramatic battle against Jin Kazama, with fiery visuals reminiscent of the Final Fantasy XVI Liquid Flame encounter. His moveset, centered around his Eikon abilities and swordplay, includes powerful throws and a Rage Art featuring Ifrit. Fans also noticed a special intro where Clive’s Phoenix wings reflect Jin’s devil wing, further linking their fiery destinies.

Clive’s addition marks the second Final Fantasy character in Tekken 8, following Final Fantasy XV’s Noctis in Tekken 7. While many speculated about characters like Tifa Lockhart making the cut, it’s Clive who takes the spotlight as the franchise’s latest guest fighter.

Naturally, Tekken 8 has officially been crowned the Best Fighting Game of 2024, and this is just the beginning for the beloved franchise. The announcement of a Year 2 character pass, with hints of Anna Williams’ return, teases even more thrilling content for fans. Already a standout title of 2024, Tekken 8 continues to evolve with Clive Rosfield’s inclusion, further enriching its already impressive roster.
