WEMADE MAX and MADNGINE, the Korean-based developers behind the hit free-to-play action game NIGHT CROWS, have officially revealed their next big project titled TAL: The Arcane Lands, a AAA open-world action RPG slated for release on PC and console in 2027.
Built with the power of Unreal Engine 5, TAL: The Arcane Lands aims to transport players into a breathtaking fantasy world rooted in the rich aesthetics of the Joseon Dynasty, now plunged into chaos by otherworldly forces. Players will step into the role of a hero leading a team through dynamic real-time battles that fuse weapons, magic, and tactical synergy for a deep, immersive experience.

The title TAL draws inspiration from traditional Korean masks, symbolizing transformation and personal awakening in a realm gripped by destiny and tyranny. The Arcane Lands hints at the game’s haunting, mystical setting, where ancient magic blurs the line between illusion and reality.
WEMADE MAX CEO Sohn stated that the studio aims to build a world that appeals to a broad audience, striking a balance between the visceral intensity of action RPG combat and the expansive freedom typical of open-world games. He emphasized that, rather than following the path of Soulslike titles, the team is developing a unique experience grounded in cultural richness and fantasy-driven storytelling.

With the success of NIGHT CROWS since its release, quickly topping major market sale charts, it raises hopes for the future development of TAL: The Arcane Lands within the next two years of development.
More details are still under wraps, but anticipation is already building for this genre-defining adventure.
