Valve has released a new Steam In-Game Performance Monitor, allowing players to track real-time system stats like FPS, CPU and GPU usage, and memory consumption, all directly within their game. This update is designed to help gamers better understand how their hardware affects in-game performance.

Key Features
- Real-Time FPS Tracking: See both actual and AI-upscaled frame rates (DLSS/FSR).
- System Usage Stats: Monitor CPU, GPU, and RAM usage live.
- Graph Overlays: Optional FPS and per-core CPU graphs show performance trends.
- Customizable Levels: Choose from 4 overlay views, from minimal to full detail.
- Live Adjustments: Change display size, opacity, and color while in-game.
How to Enable Steam In-Game Performance Overlay

Go to Settings, then go to the In-Game tab, and then the Performance Overlay section to:
- Turn the monitor on
- Adjust display size and appearance
- Set hotkeys and positioning
Valve also plans to expand the overlay by adding more performance data, warnings for common hardware issues, and a full performance summary panel (via Shift + Tab). Future updates will improve compatibility and provide even more customization for players. Do note that this is the first version and is currently limited to Windows users and modern GPUs.
