Raw Power Games, a fresh studio made up of over 100 industry veterans, showed off their first game Chronicles: Medieval during Summer Game Fest 2025. The team includes developers who worked on major titles like The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, and the Assassin’s Creed series.
Set in 14th and 15th century Europe, Chronicles: Medieval puts players in a large, open world where they can build their own story. Whether you want to become a powerful ruler, lead armies into battle, or focus on trade and wealth, the choice is yours. The game mixes action combat with RPG elements and strategic gameplay.
“Whether players dream of carving out a kingdom, leading armies into battle, or becoming the most prosperous trader, history is written by their hand in Chronicles: Medieval,” said Andrzej Zawadzki, Senior Designer at Raw Power Games.
The combat system aims for realistic medieval warfare. Players can recruit and train troops, then lead them into large battles where you can both command from above and fight directly on the front lines in third-person view. Raw Power Games worked with Historical European Martial Arts expert Björn Rüther to make sure the sword fighting feels authentic and weighty.

Raw Power Games plans to work closely with players during development. Clemens Koch, Senior Community Manager, explained that the studio wants to include the community through early testing and feedback sessions. They’re encouraging interested players to join their Discord channel to stay involved.
Chronicles: Medieval is set to launch in early access on Steam sometime in 2026. The developers say the world will keep evolving based on community input, making it a “living medieval playground” where no two players will have the same experience.
