SEGA is bringing the much-anticipated Persona 5: The Phantom X, th free-to-play mobile spin-off of Atlus’ popular JRPG Persona 5 to global audiences next month. The award-winning game will arrive on iOS and Android platforms after successful launches in China.
Persona 5: The Phantom X, winner of the Japan Game Awards’ Future Games Category at Tokyo Game Show 2024, will launch globally on June 26, 2025 as a free-to-play mobile game. The title expands the Persona universe with new characters while incorporating gacha mechanics into the franchise’s signature RPG gameplay.

Following its release in China, Taiwan, and South Korea earlier this year in April, and after announcements in Japan last year, global players will finally get the chance to experience this parallel universe story set in the world of Persona 5.
The game introduces players to a new protagonist who, after awakening from a nightmare, finds himself in a world drained of hope. The narrative features new characters including Lefaye (an eloquent owl), a mysterious long-nosed man, and a woman dressed in blue – suggesting connections to the series’ iconic Velvet Room.

Players will navigate both the Metaverse and the Velvet Room as they uncover the mysteries behind ruinous visions that threaten everyday life. While featuring an original story with new Phantom Thieves (including the protagonist codenamed “Wonder” and a mascot named Lufel, codenamed “Cattle”), the game also includes appearances from familiar characters from Persona 5, including all members of the original Phantom Thieves and even Kasumi Yoshizawa.
