SEGA has released a new combat-focused trailer for SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance, giving players their first detailed look at the fighting system in the upcoming 2D action game. The trailer shows main character Joe Musashi using different ninja techniques called Ninjutsu and Ninpo to create smooth combo attacks. Players will be able to chain these moves together as they fight through the game’s levels.
SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance is set to launch on August 29, 2025, and will be available on multiple platforms including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. The game is being developed by Lizardcube, the same team that created the popular Streets of Rage 4. This new SHINOBI title brings back the classic series with a fresh hand-drawn art style that gives it a colorful, animated look.
In the game, players control Joe Musashi, a skilled ninja whose village was destroyed and his clan turned to stone. The story follows his journey for revenge against the forces responsible for this attack. Players will need to master various combat moves and overcome challenging obstacles throughout different stages.
