Gaming smartphone is probably one of the hottest trends right now, as Huawei is joining the competition following the steps of Razer (Razer Phone), ROG (ROG Phone), XiaoMi (Xiaomi Black Shark) and more. The information is confirmed by Huawei Consumer Business President Jim Xu in a recent interview, and he is stating that the gaming-focused smartphone will launch before 2018 ends.
Huawei is currently rolling out their GPU Turbo update for a long list of devices such as P20, Mate 10, P10, honor 10 and honor 9, where the update will boost the GPU’s ability, allowing users run mobile games at a higher frame rate and better graphics. The upcoming Huawei gaming phone will take advantage of this new technology too.
Also, according to Jim Xu, the upcoming smartphone will not feature moving mechanical parts (like the pop-out camera on OPPO Find X), instead they are making it foldable.
We can expect more from Huawei since they always bring us surprises and of course, there must be something new and powerful enough to rival the existing gaming smartphones. Maybe a new chipset that is faster than Kirin 970 or multiple displays that could run different apps at the same time? More details will be revealed as 2018 plays out, so stay tuned!
