Harness The Power Of Attraction Cards In MTG With Gallery of Legends For Unfinity

We’re back with another preview for MTG, this time for the upcoming Unfinity set and showing off the all new Attraction mechanic with the new card Gallery of Legends, courtesy of our friends at Wizards of the Coast.

For those of you new to how Attractions work in MTG, this new mechanic is simple- these double sided artifacts go into their own side deck (called the Attraction deck). Sometimes cards will have an effect that will tell you to “open an attraction”- that’s your cue to grab a card from the attraction deck.

From there, once a turn you can roll a 6-sided die- if your result matches the lit up side of your die, you’ll be able to activate that attraction’s effect. They’re artifacts and void of mana costs, so make sure to stack your MTG deck with the right Attraction cards for your strategy.

Gallery of Legends is a double-sided attraction that allows you to get big creatures into your board. It’s effect reads:

Visit- Exile cards from the top of your library until you exile a nonland card, then choose a legendary creature card name with the same mana value as that card. Create a token that’s a copy of that card with the chosen name. That token gains haste. Exile it at the beginning of the next end step.

The double sides only change which dice numbers you’ll succeed on to activate its effect- one side has a 3 and the other has a 5, while 6 remains a success for both sides.

Just right off the bat, this is a potentially big and potentially very silly card. Note that it makes no mention of where you pull the Legendary Creature from- you can easily create a token of a creature that simply doesn’t exist in your deck, then use its ability for the turn as long as it meets the other card requirements (and you have reference for what the card actually does).

It should be noted that unfortunately Gallery of Legends is an acorn card, meaning you won’t ever actually see competitive play with this card- but that doesn’t mean you won’t see it tearing up Unfinity-only games as you bring in bizarre creatures.

Considering the Un-series love of silly mechanics (remember Unfinity lets you turn real life objects into tokens), this seems like a great card for a chaotic deck. Gallery of Legends will be available in MtG: Unfinity when the set drops on October 7th, 2022.
