ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 Officially Commences With The Best Dota 2 Teams in the World 

ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 has officially commenced, bringing 12 Dota 2 teams from across the globe to compete for the title of champion.

Powered by Intel, ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 is the final Dota 2 LAN tournament of the year and is being held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) from 11 December 2023 to 17 December 2023. 

The tournament is the second competition in the ESL Pro Tour (EPT) for Dota 2 Season 2, where 12 teams from around the world compete against one another for the prize pool of $1 million USD and 19,980 available EPT Points.

On December 11th, the teams were divided into two groups of six, and now starting on December 15th to 17th, the top four teams from each group will face off in the live Playoffs at MITEC with only one to become champion.

Format 

Playoffs 

The Playoffs will feature a double elimination with the best teams being placed in the upper bracket and the lower bracket teams fighting to avoid being eliminated. 

All Playoff matches will be run in the format of best-of-three matches, increasing the stakes and determining who will move on the brackets.

Grand Finals

By the end, the two best teams will face off each other in the Grand Finals in a best-of-five format to prove who shall be champion and bring home a prize pool of $1 million USD and 19,980 available EPT Points.

The confirmed teams to compete in the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023 Playoffs are as follows:

• Team Secret

• Team Falcons

• Tundra Esports

As mentioned, a grand total of $1 million USD is up for grabs at ESL One Kuala Lumpur and the winners will receive the biggest share at $300,000 USD.

The runners-up will receive $175,000 USD and the remaining top ten teams will earn $120,000 to $25,000 USD depending on their final placement in the tournament.

Furthermore, there is a total of 19,980 EPT Points and these points will allow teams to rise on the Leaderboard in the hopes of eventually receiving a direct invite to the showdown competition.

The Champions will be taking home 4,800 Points, with the eleven remaining teams receiving between 210 and 3,600 Points depending on their placement.
