Epic Seven Announces Collaboration with Overlord

Publisher Smilegate has officially announced a collaboration between mobile game Epic Seven and light novel series Overlord.

The latest YouTube trailer shows the main character of Overlord, Ainz Ooal Gown staring menacingly at the viewer while declaring that he shall showcase the power of Nazarick to the world of Orbis.

According to a post on the game’s official Stove page, the collaboration event will run from 18 April 2024 to 9 May 2024 and will feature “a story of travelers who arrived in a strange desert through a mysterious gate”.

However, many players had already known about the upcoming collaboration as information about it had been discovered by keen eyed viewers in the code of the game’s countdown page since 1 April 2024.

This collaboration with Overlord will be Epic Seven’s first collaboration with a new IP in over a year since their last one with Re:Zero in May 2022 which featured Emilia, Ram and Rem as collectible units.

Based on the trailer, it is highly likely that Ainz Ooal Gown himself will be a playable character this time.

No further information, including the characters that will be added with the collaboration has been revealed yet, but a preview of the event’s contents will be made available on the official collaboration page on 9 April 2024.
