In a surprising move for VR rhythm game fans, Beat Games has officially confirmed that it will be ending all future support for Beat Saber on both PlayStation VR2 and the original PS VR. This includes major updates, patches, and multiplayer support, effectively cutting the game’s PlayStation VR versions off from ongoing development.
The developer announced it on X, stating that the PS4/PS5 versions of the game will no longer be updated, effective immediately, as Beat Games looks “to the future and plans the next big leap for Beat Saber.”

While Beat Saber will remain playable on PS VR2 and PS VR, the game will no longer receive support for bug fixes or new patch updates, and the new music packs and multiplayer will stop on January 21, 2026.
This effectively ends the chance for PlayStation users to access new features or participate in future online content.

Music packs released before June 18th will still be available; however, no new content will be released on these platforms after that date, whilst cross-buy will remain active between the PS4 and PS5 base game.
This makes PlayStation’s last available Beat Saber DLC Lady Gaga’s ‘Abracadabra’, which was released as a paid ‘Shock Drop’ single on June 5th.
