NEXON has officially announced that the global Alpha Test for its action RPG Vindictus: Defying Fate will take place on Steam from June 8 to June 16. This test marks the title’s first large-scale evaluation since the pre-alpha held in March 2024, and introduces a wealth of new content and features.
The alpha build expands the playable roster with the addition of two new characters, Delia and Karok, joining returning favorites Lann and Fiona. Each hero features a unique combat style, reinforcing the game’s focus on deliberate, skill-based action that rewards players for reading enemy patterns, executing precise dodges, and performing well-timed counterattacks.

A standout feature of this test is the introduction of the Companion NPC System, which allows players to fight alongside story-driven characters. These companions provide support during battles, including the newly implemented multiplayer boss raids. Among the formidable foes featured in the alpha are the White Tyrant and the Blood Lord, both designed to offer heightened challenges.
Outside of combat, players will be able to explore a newly added village hub that serves as a central location for key NPCs, including the first appearance of Tieve. This setting also introduces fresh narrative elements, expanded character customization options, and an enhanced inventory system. Core progression features such as leveling, crafting, and a more intricate ability system will also be accessible during the test.

To coincide with the announcement, NEXON has released a new trailer and character spotlight videos. Additional information can be found in the May 2025 developer log.
