Gaming Industry in Thailand Takes Global Stage with gamescom Partnership

Excitement is building for the inaugural gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show, scheduled for October 16 to19, 2025, in Bangkok. This landmark event follows Thailand’s selection as the Official Partner Country for gamescom 2025, the world’s largest gaming event held in Cologne, Germany.

The Bangkok event will be the only Asian edition of gamescom, benefiting from the global attention generated by Thailand’s presence at the main event. The combined show will feature both business-to-consumer (B2C) entertainment areas and business-to-business (B2B) exhibition spaces, covering 30,000 square meters—representing a 40 percent increase compared to previous editions.

Visitors can expect appearances from industry heavyweights, gaming hardware displays, non-endemic brands, and indie developers. Fan-favorite activities will return, including esports competitions, streamer challenges, and cosplay contests. The business area will host industry conferences, investment opportunities, and a pitch competition, while country pavilions and indie developers will showcase their latest games to publishers and investors.

Thailand’s gaming credentials are impressive as the 19th largest gaming market globally and among the top 10 in Asia. It ranks as the second largest and fastest-growing gaming market in Southeast Asia with revenue of approximately $1.3 billion. Around 32 million gamers—representing 47 percent of Thailand’s population—contribute to a thriving indie scene supported by government initiatives and incubators.
