Developer and publisher Capcom has released a new survey asking fans if they are interested in new games of Dino Crisis, Okami, Onimusha, and many more other old franchises.
Dubbed ‘Super Elections‘, which was launched via the Capcom Town website, the company asked fans 10 questions largely about the various aspects of its businesses and its games, with mentions of old IPs such as Dino Crisis, Onimusha, and more.
Many are rather straightforward, such as “What is your favorite Capcom game?” and “Who is your favorite Capcom character?”.
Among the questions, however, there are a few that are interesting, such as one that asks: “Are there any Capcom game series (including spin-off games) that you would like to see get a sequel or new game?”
There are 20 options available for this question, some franchises are currently flourishing such as Resident Evil and Monster Hunter, but there are many series that have not seen a new entry in some time.
The options are as follows:
- 1942
- Ace Attorney
- Breath of Fire
- Darkstalkers
- Dead Rising
- Devil May Cry
- Dino Crisis
- Dragon’s Dogma
- Final Fight
- Ghosts ‘n Goblins
- Lost Planet
- Mega Man
- Monster Hunter
- Okami
- Onimusha
- Resident Evil
- Sengoku Basara
- Street Fighter
- Toraware no Palm
- VS Capom
Another intriguing question was “Is there a game you would like to see completely remade with the latest technology, including character design and story direction?”
For this question, there are 9 different games as potential remake candidates, and players are asked to choose one they would love to see the most:
- Ace Attorney
- Breath of Fire 1-3
- Commando
- Final Fight
- Gargoyle’s Quest 1 and 2
- Mega Man 1-3
- Nijiirocho no Kiseki
- Onimusha 1-3
- Rival Schools
Note that the survey does not indicate that any of the mentioned titles or series have remakes or new entries in development or planned.
However, this survey does suggest that Capcom is actively seeking feedback from fans to decide if a project may be in their best interest.
Launched in June 2023, the Capcom Town website was established to celebrate the company’s 40th anniversary.
The website is billed by Capcom as “the ultimate digital tourist destination”, and is updated regularly with new features.
