The excitement for World of Warcraft: The War Within amplifies as the start of alpha testing is coming this week.
As announced, the alpha testing for The War Within expansion of World of Warcraft is now available for sign-up and will follow a cadence of focused testing similar to the one introduced in the Dragonflight expansion.
In other words, the initial phase will invite select players to check out a large amount of content contained in The War Within’s first zone, The Isle of Dorn.
For this week’s Alpha Testing build, players will get to experience the following content:
- Isle of Dorn Quests: Most of the level-up campaign quests and local stories (side quests) within the new zone, The Isle of Dorn, will be available. Some main story components will remain encrypted until the game’s launch.
- 2 Dungeons: Cinderbrew Meadery & The Rookery
- 3 Delves: Earthcrawl Mines, Fungal Folly, and Kriegval’s Rest
- Profession Updates: Herbalism
- Hero Talents: Most classes will have a least one tree testable with the exception of Assassination Rogue, Enhancement Shaman, and Brewmaster Monk, which will be coming online in later test builds.
Aside from the excitement of alpha testing for the latest expansion, the WoW team also announced a special limited collector’s edition that celebrates not only The War Within but also the 20th anniversary of World of Warcraft. The 20th anniversary collector’s edition will include:
- Epic Edition tier of the game via digital download and all its bonuses
- Art of The War Within hardcover book
- Collector’s Pin featuring Alleria, Anduin, and Thrall
- 20th Anniversary Gryphon Rider statue
The collector’s edition of The War Within will be available for pre-order starting today through various global retailers and for more information on region pricing, you can refer to the official website.
