This Pacific Rim Crimson Typhoon Statue From Way Studios Immortalizes The One Scene Featuring It

Way Studios is producing an officially licensed statue of Crimson Typhoon, the three-armed Chinese Jaeger from Pacific Rim.

Announced on their website, you can buy the statue, which stands 84cm tall, for 1,905,350 Won (approximately RM7000). It’s available for pre-order on the Way Studios website.

Of course, it’s more than a pretty shelf ornament. The Way Studios Crimson Typhoon statue comes with multiple tiny LEDs, emulating the lights along the Jaeger’s body as well as a big LED for the Jaeger’s head and cockpit.

On top of that all three of Crimson Typhoon’s arms are motorized, with the buzzsaws of its iconic Thundercloud Formation being able to rotate.

The statue stands posed running through the waters, similar to its one fight scene in the Battle of Hong Kong, where the last Jaegers fight off against a double event: two kaiju appearing at the same time. It’s not currently known if this means that the Way Studios would be producing the other Jaegers from that scene such as Cherno Alpha, Striker Eureka or Gipsy Danger.

Pacific Rim was Guillermo Del Toro’s live action mecha movie, revolving around a world where Kaiju would hop through a portal to attack major cities. While its sequel and spinoff anime have largely remained underwhelming, the first movie has attained a cult status, with many die-hard fans.

Way Studios has done other sculptures based on movies as well, such as the Indominus Rex and Indoraptor from the Jurassic World series.
