Kakao Entertainment has confirmed that a live-action adaptation of the hit series Solo Leveling is currently in development. The adaptation, based on the popular web novel by Chugong and the late artist DUBU (REDICE Studio), follows Jin-woo Sung, a weak hunter who transforms into the world’s strongest after acquiring mysterious powers. Solo Leveling initially gained fame through its webcomic adaptation, which launched on WEBTOON in March 2018 and concluded in December 2021. The anime adaptation, produced by A-1 Pictures, has further elevated the series’ popularity, with its second season, Solo Leveling Season 2 – Arise from the Shadow, debuting in January 2025. The anime has achieved impressive rankings on Amazon Prime and Netflix, cementing the franchise’s global appeal.
