SEGA has shared new information about Red Light Raid, an all-new action mode debuting in Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, which will launch exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2.
Red Light Raid is a high-energy gameplay mode that allows players to take on fast-paced Challenge Missions, either solo or alongside others locally or online. With a roster of over 60 playable fighters, players will battle through waves of enemies before facing off against powerful bosses at the end of each stage. The mode is unlocked from the beginning of the game, offering immediate access to this exciting feature.

Three Ways to Experience Red Light Raid: Online, With Friends, or Solo
Red Light Raid offers three distinct gameplay modes tailored to different playstyles:
- Raid Online: Team up with players from around the world and coordinate your efforts in cooperative online battles.
- Raid with Friends: Connect locally or online with your friends and tackle missions together, synchronizing your attacks to defeat increasingly tough enemies.
- Raid Solo: Prefer to go it alone? This offline mode allows you to take on missions at your own pace, assisted by CPU-controlled allies who will fight alongside you throughout each stage.

Play as Over 60 Fighters from the Yakuza Universe
Red Light Raid features a large roster of 60 characters, including Kazuma Kiryu, Goro Majima, and iconic antagonists like Daisaku Kuze and Hiroki Awano. Players can also use fighters from the Coliseum and substories. You can earn money through battles and missions to unlock new characters, each with unique fighting styles and abilities.

For example, Kuze has boxing skills, while Nishitani uses a dagger, and Vengeful Otake fights at a distance. Each character has different stats like strength, speed, and defense, so players should try different ones to find the best fit. Money can also be used to level up characters for tougher battles.
Unleash Red Light Rage Mode
Every fighter has access to Red Light Rage Mode, a powerful combat state activated when the glowing fist icon in the upper-left corner of the screen lights up. Once triggered, this mode increases attack speed and resistance to knockdowns, and prevents health from dropping to zero while active – allowing players to go all-out during critical moments in battle.

Strategic Combat Across Iconic Yakuza 0 Locations
Red Light Raid missions occur in well-known locations from Yakuza 0, such as the Dojima Family Headquarters and Cabaret Grand. Each stage has unique layouts that can be used to gain strategic advantages, like using narrow alleyways to defeat enemies quickly or open spaces for long-range attacks. The game offers fast-paced action, character customization, and the option to play solo, with friends, or globally.

Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut will feature new story cutscenes that reveal important events and backstories. With dozens of fighters to unlock, dynamic combat systems, and stages brimming with tactical opportunities, this new mode promises a thrilling addition to the game.
