Capcom revealed new information about its upcoming sci-fi game PRAGMATA during the June Capcom Spotlight event, giving players their first extended look at the game’s story and unique gameplay mechanics.
The game was featured in Capcom’s recent spotlight showcase providing more details about its near-future setting and action-packed gameplay. PRAGMATA takes place in a world where humanity has discovered Lunam Ore, a material that led to the creation of Lunafilament – a substance that can copy almost anything. The trouble starts when Earth suddenly loses all contact with the lunar research station working on this technology.
Players follow Hugh Williams, who gets sent to the moon with a team to find out what went wrong. During their mission, a lunar earthquake hits the facility, separating Hugh from his team and leaving him hurt and unconscious. At this critical moment, he’s saved by a mysterious android called a Pragmata, who looks like a young girl and was made using Lunafilament. Hugh decides to call his new companion “Diana,” and together they must fight off dangerous robots that have gone wild at the station while trying to escape back to Earth.
The gameplay centers around a unique team-based combat system that combines hacking and shooting. When players aim at enemies, a special panel appears on screen that represents Diana’s hacking abilities. Players need to move their cursor through this panel to break down enemy defenses, creating weak spots that Hugh can then attack with his weapons. This system requires quick thinking and strategy during intense battles.

To give players a taste of the combat system, Capcom has launched the official PRAGMATA website, which includes a “Hacking Minigame” that lets people try out part of the game’s unique mechanics before release. The game will also be playable at Gamescom 2025 and other gaming events. PRAGMATA is set to launch in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC through Steam.
