Nintendo Museum Set to Open on October 2

Nintendo has announced the opening of its Nintendo Museum in Kyoto, Japan, scheduled for October 2. The museum aims to showcase the company’s rich history in entertainment and its commitment to fostering creativity through interactive exhibits and displays.

Located in Nintendo’s hometown, the museum will offer visitors a comprehensive look at the company’s evolution and contributions to the gaming industry. The facility is divided into several key areas, each designed to provide a unique experience for attendees.

The “Discover” section will feature side-by-side displays of Nintendo’s products throughout the years, allowing visitors to trace the company’s innovative journey. Interactive exhibits will complement these displays, offering hands-on experiences that showcase Nintendo’s creative approach to gaming. For those interested in Nintendo’s origins, the “Craft and Play” area will provide an opportunity to make Hanafuda playing cards and learn the traditional game’s rules. This experience, however, requires a separate reservation and fee.

The museum will also house a café and a shop. The café will offer special drinks and customizable hamburgers, while the shop will sell official Nintendo merchandise, including items exclusive to the museum. Both the café and shop will be accessible only to ticket holders.

Furthermore, admission to the Nintendo Museum will be based on a lottery system, with tickets granting entry for specific dates and times. Interested visitors must apply in advance for the ticket drawing.
